Sandy Reilly, violist

Sandy Reilly (b. 2010) is a violist from Edinburgh who studies with Duncan Ferguson at St Mary's Music School. He has been awarded numerous recital prizes at the Edinburgh Competition Festival, including the Joan Dickson Medal, the Waddell Medal, and the Gray Medal. He was a concerto class finalist in 2026 and was highly commended in the 15-minute recital competition in both 2025 and 2026.

At St Mary's Music School, he won the Junior Recital Prize, and he previously received the Ferguson Bruce Music Scholarship at George Watson's College.

Sandy has participated in masterclasses with distinguished violists including Lawrence Power, Sarah-Jane Bradley, and Scott Dickinson.

He is currently a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, having previously performed with the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and NYOS Camerata. His recent performances include appearances at the Young Euro Classic in Berlin and the Lammermuir Festival, where he performed with soloist Elena Urioste.
